U12 Callan Alive Tournament – Sunday 3rd August 2014

Graigue Ballycallan U12 Team played 2 games in the Callan Alive Tournament on Sunday 3rd Aug.
Their first game was against Thomastown and our lads getting off to a flyer with 3 well taken scores from Oisín Egan but to their credit Thomastown fought their way back into the game and took the lead with 5 mins to the break. Then the turning point in the game came when a lack in concentration from our full back line let a Thomastown corner forward in for a soft goal just on halftime.

The Village opened the scoring with two well taken points, before two frees from Oisín Egan brought the sides back level.  Then, a well taken goal from Finn Lanigan put our boys ahead 1-02 to 0-03. Intermediate camogie vs Danesfort

Well done to our intermediate camogie team who have won the 3rd round of the league. On Tuesday 22nd July the girls were up against Danesfort in Danesfort on a warm summer’s evening. Again, injuries were affecting the numbers but we had a panel of 17 on the night. St Brigid’s got off to a great start, scoring 3 points before Danesfort got a look in. Great passing between the half back line and the half forward line meant the ball travelled fast up the field and from this 9 points were scored from play in the 1st half. Read more

U12 Go Games – Team White – Saturday 19th July 2014

The U12 Team White travelled to Graiguenamanagh on Saturday morning 19th July to play their 1st match in the U12 Go Games series.

Due to a shortage of players because of holidays there was a few U10’s asked to travel who certainly held their own at this level and are surely 2 boys with a good future, well done Charlie Cleere and Billy Egan.
Our boys were a little slow to start and conceded a couple of early goals. However, that did not faze them and they all put their heads down to get a few scores they deserved. The game was played for a full hour and only for the lack of a little bit of luck in front of goal, we certainly would have finished closer on the scoreboard. However, there were plenty of positives and some decent performances on the morning with Kevin Ging, Brendan Dunne, Eoin Delahunty, JJ Ryan, Jack Cleere and John Muldowney showing up well.
