Under 6 Camogie: Our season came to an end with our final game against John Lockes in Callan on Saturday morning 11th September. The girls were kept busy this year with training every Wednesday night and five games against Tullaroan, Freshford and John Lockes. With a panel of 19 enthusiastic players, the improvement in the team was evident from game to game. We have no doubt this group will continue to develop into a fantastic team in the years ahead. Missing from photo on our last day out were Holly Bourke, Jasmine Davis, Hannah Corrigan and sisters Daisy & Darcie Fitzpatrick.
U-14 News: Huge congratulations to Molly Conroy who was a member of the KK Amber Squad who won the All Ireland U-14 Blitz yesterday. They defeated Galway by 6-7 to 1-7. The Graigue Ballycallan Minor team faced Thomastown in Thomastown on Wednesday evening, 1st September in the preliminary round of the Roinn B Championship.
On what was a perfect evening for hurling, Thomastown got off to a quick start going 2 points up in the first few minutes after a few uncharacteristic wides from the Graigue Ballycallan forwards were driven before that at the opposite end. Read more

The locals got off to a quick start with two points on the board in the first few minutes. Our U15s made an early start on Saturday the 21st August to take on Clara in the opening round of Féile 2021, in a well organised but overcast O’Loughlin Gaels GAA grounds.
Clara made a bright opening and only for some great defending by the full back line of Oran, Aidan and Robbie Lynch and in particular Sean McGrath’s goal keeping skills, we could have found ourselves a goal or two down early on. Once we settled into the game, we began to dominate key positions. Midfield’s pairing of Frank and Michael soon got on top of things to send in good ball to our forwards. Substitutes Sean O’ Halloran, Keelan and Shane Hogan made a great impact on the team to help us get over the final line. Ben Young at full forward impressed scoring 2-1 to have his best game of the season so far, ably assisted by the young but skillful deadly duo Cormac and Ben Mc. We won this game on a score line of GBC 2-3 Clara 0-4. Scorers: Ben Young 2-1, Cormac Neary 0-1, Eoghan Cahil 0-1. Read more
Tom Ryall park was the venue for our Go Game Camogie Blitz this morning (7th August). We played 3 games Emeralds, Tullaroan and Windgap. The girls played some super Camogie showing great skill with superb scores, good defending and brilliant team work. Special word of thanks to our referees Kirsten & Brian. We would like to thank the parents in attendance for their support .
GBC continued where they left off in the last match with a brace of fine goals. The match was played in Tom Ryall Park on a perfect evening for hurling. The pitch was as always in perfect condition and a nice crowd cheering on the lads.
The first 10 minutes was a tense affair with both teams showing great hurling, tackling and hooking and it looked like it would be tough battle for the hour, but GBC started to settle down and played some really intelligent hurling. The movement from the two forward lines started to show promise and with it came a hat-trick of goals from Ben McEvoy. He was ably assisted by the hard working Michael Tynan at centre forward who is adding point scoring to his considerable goal threat and this bodes well for later in the year.
What a cracking first round tie. Goals, fantastic saves and more goals were the order of the day. Graigue raced into a 9 point lead through a hat trick of goals from Ben McEvoy at full forward. Shane Hogan saved 2 certain goals with saves that Eoin Murphy would be proud of. Piltown fought back well after the water break and scored three goals of their own. Some great defending in the last few minutes of the half from the full back line trio of Cian Ronan, Oran Hoyne and Sean O’Halloran and a goal from Michael Tynan for GBC left the score at 4-2 to 3-6 at half time. Graigue Ballycallan GAA Club and St Brigid’s Camogie Club are in the process of a massive development at the club grounds in Kilmanagh and Ballycallan Parish have kindly agreed that the proceeds of the new Lotto will be given to GBC GAA Club until June 2023 to fund this development.
