A huge thank you to everyone who supported the 40th anniversary celebrations on Friday 10th November. It was attended by a great crowd and we hope everyone had a fantastic night. Thank you to the organising committee led by John Cahill, to Springhill for hosting the event, the room was beautifully decorated! To Angela Downey for presenting the medals to our county champions and the gifts to our All Ireland medallists. Thank you to Francis Rothwell, Kay Ryall and Grace Dunphy for their lovely video messages from abroad which proved to be a lovely suprise for their families and to The Aces Showband for providing the music. St Brigid’s underage county players from u13 to u16 attended their medal presentation last Sunday in Springhill Hotel. Well done to Moya O’Brien, Claire Doheny, Lauren East, Kate McCluskey, Reece Delaney, Ellie O’Neill, Roisin Casey, Caragh Keating, Tara Ronan, Isabelle Caldbeck and Molly Butler on agreat year with the Kilkenny squads! Let’s hope 2018 is a successful year again for all our players at county level!
Congratulations to our Player of the Year Amy O’Connor! Amy has been a force to be reckoned with at centre back all year. A great leader and motivator for the girls whose consistency and work rate proves this award is well deserved! Voted by the players and the award was sponsored by Ballykeefe Distillery. Well done again Amy!!

The first round of the Roinn B U-21 Hurling Championship took place in St. John’s Park, Kilkenny on Sunday 5th November last. Graigue-Ballycallan’s opponents were Young Irelands, Gowran. Past encounters between these two protagonists over the last few years have always been tight affairs and the GBC management expected nothing different on this occasion. Read more
Since winning the Intermediate Semi-Final with a fantastic come-back against Southern rivals Glenmore, all eyes were on the final where St. Patrick’s awaited. With considerable big day experience, Ballyragget were always going to be favourites but Graigue Ballycallan went into the final full of enthusiasm and courage. Read more
On behalf of the Graigue-Ballycallan GAA Club, I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to everyone who wished us well in the recent Michael Lyng Motors Intermediate Hurling Final. While our efforts fell a little short on the day, it was an occasion savoured by club and parish alike. St Brigids Camogie Club AGM 2017 will be held on Friday November 24th at 8pm in the clubrooms. Nominations for executive committee positions to be sent in writing to the Secretary by November 20th.
The club are preparing for their first County Final in 17 years and we all know there are considerable costs involved in preparing the team and the club for this great occasion.
