St Canice’s Credit Union SHL Final Round – GBC v Erin’s Own – 7/9/2019

It was perhaps with some trepidation that supporters travelled to Freshford last Saturday as GBC took on Erin’s Own in the last round of the St. Canice’s Credit Union SHL. Defeat would ensure the team would be contesting the first round of the Championship certain in the knowledge another defeat would see them fighting to retain their recently achieved Senior status.

U14 Camogie 2019

The U14 girls have finished up for this year, all girls were only brilliant. Started off with Féile getting into a Final against the Boro making these St. Brigid’s U14s second best for Kilkenny. We had another Féile in Clara, this was for all teams that were second in their county. We played Dublin, Tipperary and Galway, a brilliant day was had by all. Read more

U10 Camogie end of season

Great end to the year for our Under 10’s

Our girls played Urlingford for their last match of the season Wednesday evening. It was a great evening, the girls played great and came out with the win! Each girl was presented with a hurling ball and a certificate for their hard work this year. We had a great year with the girls, they have all improved so much and we are already looking forward to what’s to come next year. Well done girls we are so proud of you all!

 

St. Canice’s Credit Union SHL 4th Round – 31/8/2019 GBC v Danesfort

After a fourteen week break over the summer, the St. Canice’s Credit Union SHL resumed on Saturday 31st August. GBC’s opponents were neighbours Danesfort and the tie was fixed for John Locke Park in Callan.

Playing with the assistance of a very strong breeze it became evident early on that opponents Danesfort meant business. They quickly built up a five point lead which in truth left GBC struggling to pull back for the duration of the entire game.

U8 Camogie News: Sun Sept 1st
A lovely way to finish up the U8 Camogie Session at Danesfort Family Fun Day. We played three tough competitive games against Clara, Danesfort and Ballyhale coming out on top of all three games. The girls worked really hard today and all year showed great attendance at training and all their matches. Thanks to parents for ongoing support.The future looks bright for this super bunch of Camogie players👏🏼👏🏼

U6 camogie end of season.

U6 Camogie:

We finished our season on Wednesday 28th with a hard fought match v Tullaroan in Kilmanagh. The evening finished with goodies and presentation of a sliotar from the club to each girl to practice the skills they learned over the summer. Attendance at training/matches was excellent throughout the summer and hopefully we’ll see the girls back next April for more fun.

Pitch Development update 21st August 2019

Equipment has arrived and we are ready to erect the new ball stopping nets behind all goals.
Please be aware there are safety issues involved with this work. On training evenings, the pitches are out of bounds to anybody not participating in training!

Report from Family Fun Day 2019 – 11/8/2019

While the sun was absent from Tom Ryall Park, Kilmanagh on Sunday last, it was at least dry as the people flocked to the annual Family Fun Day. With proceedings starting at 12 noon, locals and visitors alike were treated to an event packed afternoon. The Ballycallan Fife and Drum Band led the teams of hurlers and camogie players around the manicured pitch and for the next two hours the aspiring stars played their hearts out in front of their proud parents and grandparents! Each team member was duly rewarded with a treat bag for their efforts.

Family Fun Day 2019 – Sunday 11th August

Graigue-Ballycallan GAA Club & St. Brigid’s Camogie Club are holding their Annual Family Fun Day and Firewood Auction on Sunday 11th August 2019 in Tom Ryall Park, Kilmanagh.

This is one of the Club’s main fundraisers and all proceeds go towards our running costs. This year we will have all the usual attractions, Under-Age Hurling and Camogie blitz, sports events, cross-bar challenge and of course the ever popular “Where will Winnie Pooh”. The eagerly anticipated big raffle for a Tractor Trailer load of Sticks will of course take place. Read more

Junior A Hurling Championship 1st Round – GBC v Tullaroan – 6/8/2019

Graigue Ballycallan played near neighbours Tullaroan in the first round of the Junior A HC on Tuesday last 6th August. The large crowd were treated to a good open game with both sides eager to reach the quarter final. GBC made the better start and quickly built up a four point lead, which in fact they were never to surrender throughout. GBC dominated in most areas of the field and with their good combination play went into the break leading by six points.
