U10 Blitz Saturday 20th September 2014 – Tom Ryall Park, Kilmanagh

Report by James Cahill

We hosted a very successful U-10 Blitz on Saturday morning 20/09/2014 in Kilmanagh. Teams from Durrow Harps (Laois), Moycarkey Borris (Tipperary) and our own two u-10 teams participated. The teams were split into two groups. Graigue-Ballycallan teams topped each group after some keenly contested games with not much separating the teams. Read more

Intermediate Hurling Championship, GBC v Glenmore, 20/09/14

Report by Bill Cuddihy.
On Saturday the 13th of September, Graigue Ballycallan’s Intermediate team began their quest to return to the senior grade in the Kilkenny Intermediate Championship following a disappointing League campaign. A tigerish final twenty minutes in Ballyhale, saw G.B.C book their place in the quarter finals, as well as retain their intermediate status for 2015. Read more

Camogie All-Ireland finals 2014

Hard luck to club members Aisling Dunphy and Therese Muldowney who were part of the Kilkenny Senior and Intermediate camogie teams who lost both All-Ireland finals on Sunday 14th September.

Limerick beat the intermediate team by 1-12 to 0-10. They were the better team throughout the game but the Kilkenny girls fought hard and never gave up right to the end. Therese Muldowney played the whole game at corner back where she played well throughout the game. Unfortunately it just wasn’t their day. Read more

Best of luck Aisling & Therese!

This weekend sees two of our players in All-Ireland final action in a historic double bid. Both the Kilkenny senior and intermediate teams contest this year’s All-Ireland finals.

Aisling Dunphy with the senior camogie panel comes up against Cork this Sunday in Croke Park. They beat last year’s champions Galway in the semi-final and they go into the game as league champions and favourites. They will try to win back the O’Duffy cup after a 20 year famine! The match is at 4pm.

Therese Muldowney is also in preparation for Sunday as the intermediate panel meet Limerick on the day. They beat Leinster champions Kildare in their semi final. The match is on at 2pm.

Best of luck to both girls and hopefully two All-Ireland medals will be coming back to the club!

Congratulations Billy!

Congratulations to Billy Ryan on winning a Minor All-Ireland medal with Kilkenny yesterday. Billy came off the bench in the 2nd half and contributed to a fantastic win for Kilkenny against a highly fancied Limerick side on a scoreline of 2-17 to 19 points. Well done Billy, you did yourself and your club proud!
