Some of our U8 Hurlers of the Week so far in 2016, Cian Ronan, Dara Barut, David Walton, Aidan Ging, Shane Hogan & Sean O’Halloran. Well done lads and keep up the great work!
Congratulations to Manager Tom Hogan, players Oisín Egan, Stephen Keoghan and Eoin Delahunty on winning the Leinster Juvenile hurling Final last Friday. They beat Good Counsel 4-13 to 3-6 in a cracking game, with St. Kierans displaying their best performance of the year & only pulled away in the final few minutes. Well done all involved.
GBC minors took on Thomastown in Tom Ryall Park last Wednesday in the third round of the league. After two losses to city teams, a win was badly needed to boost morale and build some momentum in this league, prior to the exam break. With only five minutes on the clock, a Thomastown forward broke loose and picked his spot from close range. Bill Cuddihy brought off a great save, avoiding an early setback. Read more
Graigue Ballycallan Intermediates got the season proper off to a start on Sunday against Glenmore in Dunnamaggin. The sides traded points in a lack-lustre first half and worringly all of GBC’s 7 points bar one came from frees, scored confidently by Conor Murphy. Billy Ryan got the sole point from play, to leave the half time score Glenmore 0-8, GBC 0-7. Read more

Graigue Ballycallan competed in the Roinn A Hurling Feile Qualifiers on Saturday morning in Ballyhale. They produced some of their best hurling of their year so far to beat Tomastown 3-8 to 2-1, O’Loughlin’s 1-10 to 2 points and finishing all square with Mooncoin 1-5 to 2-2. This put the boys top of their qualifier group and set to play James Stephens in the Feile Semi-Final in Clara at 12.30pm on Sunday. A great achievement for all involved with GBC being the only country club to qualify for the Semi finals.

Graigue Ballycallan U14s continued their busy spell with a visit from Erins Own to Tom Ryall Park for Round 3 of the Hurling League. Unfortunately mother nature wasn’t kind and the game was played with a biting gale force wind with a downpour of hailstones halfway through to compound the difficult conditions. Read more
Well done to our Intermediate Camogie team who won the first round of the league last Sunday 24th April. They beat St. Anne’s, Johnstown, in Kilmanagh after leading on the scoreboard throughout the game.
The girls had possession from the throw-in and kicked off the scoring after two minutes with a lovely goal and point from Eimear Keoghan in quick succession. Read more
Our U6 camogie team had a great 1st training session on Wednesday 28th April with our brilliant trainers! Thank you to all the parents who brought the girls and made sure they were all geared up! Let’s hope this is the start of a long and successful camogie career for these girls!
Well done to Laoise Prendiville and Kym Ryan who were part of the Kilkenny U-16 camogie team who recently won the Leinster championship. They were up against Dublin and beat them on a scoreline of 3-18 to 3-6. It is brilliant to see our club members succeeding at this level so keep up the great work girls!
