Leinster Intermediate Hurling Final – Saturday 1st December 2018

What a weekend….Graigue Ballycallan are Leinster Champions after defeating Portlaoise in the Leinster Intermediate Club Final on Saturday 1st December. Our club and parish are so proud of this whole panel of players who have worked so hard this year and are now reaping the rewards, well done and congratulations to the players and management for giving us a year to remember and we look forward to the All Ireland Semi Final on 19th January 2019 where we will meet Charliville of Cork.

Michael Lyng Motors Intermediate Hurling CHAMPIONS 2018!!!

As there has been reams written about our final in the local newspapers and spoken about on local radio, it is perhaps best to leave it to pictures to see what this famous victory has meant to both club and parish.  To each and every one of the players and management team we salute you as worthy champions!! Last year’s defeat in the final only served to strengthen your resolve and promises made by you at the 2017 home-coming have undeniably been fulfilled! What happened on Sunday 28th October 2018 had to be seen to be believed! The journey has only begun for this group of young and (young at heart) players!!!  The Leinster Campaign beckons and the journey continues for Kilkenny’s newest recruits to the Senior ranks.!!

 

Family Fun Day 2018 – Sturday 1st September 2018

The Graigue-Ballycallan GAA Club & St. Brigid’s Camogie Club Annual Family Fun Day for 2018 will take place on Saturday 1st September in Tom Ryall Park, Kilmanagh. This fund-raising event has now become a family favourite in the parish over the past few years and its continued success is due to the outstanding support it receives from locals and visitors alike. This event has become instrumental in the club’s fund-raising efforts as costs continue to rise in running a modern GAA Club.  Read more

Senior Camogie team are Leinster league champions!

Congratulations to St Brigid’s Senior Camogie team on a resounding victory over near neighbours Danesfort in the Leinster Camogie League Final on Sunday 8th April 2018. In Danesfort, the local officials did a great job to make the pitch playable. A fine first half by St. Brigid’s (Graigue Ballycallan) was vital to their victory. Midfielder and joint captain Laura Hennessy gave a Player of the Match performance and grabbed a vital goal in the opening half. Laureena Murphy and Caoimhe Murphy chipped in with two and three points apiece. Kym Ryan and Therese Muldowney were also on target. For Danesfort, goalkeeper Aoife Walsh was outstanding and a goal before the break by Laura Dooley gave them hope. Read more

U17 Hurling League Round 1 – GBC v Harps (Durrow)

Our U17s kicked off their League campaign last Monday 26th of March against the The Harps from Durrow in Tom Ryall Park. In terrible weather conditions Harps were on top early on and had a good lead at half time.
Half Time:          GBC 0-3          The Harps 1-6
In the second half, GBC were much better and worked extremely hard and outscored their opponents by 1-6 to 1-0 to earn a well deserved draw. Read more
