The u-16s continued their league campaign with a trip to the South on Monday last where they competed against Dunnamaggin. These two teams last met in the u16 Roinn B Championship quarter finals last September and all will recall that the GBC lads emerged victorious with only one point to spare on that occasion. So a close encounter was anticipated by the good crowd of supporters in attendance. Read more
Report by Philomena Brennan:
After a good start to the Roinn A League campaign the local boys entertained Thomastown in Tom Ryall Park, Kilmanagh on Monday 13th April last. GBC playing with the assistance of a very strong breeze stunned the Thomastown defence with a well taken goal from Sean Ryan shortly after the throw in. This seemed to set the tone for the first half as the boys did not allow Thomastown to settle on the ball for any period of time in this first half. Read more

Graigue Ballycallan under 16’s began the 2015 season in style with a convincing win over Mooncoin in the first round of the Roinn A league. The Kilmanagh side were quickest out of the blocks racing into a 3 point lead, with scores coming from James Everard and Sean Ryan(2) before Mooncoin levelled, punishing a moment of indecision in the GBC defence. Our gallant under 16s continued their winning ways in Bennettsbridge on Sunday when they overcame a good Clara side to complete the league championship double. After a tense start, the sides were level at 2 points each when in the thirteenth minute Dylan Lanigan put some space between the sides. He was first to react when a long delivery broke and his goal gave the impressive Clara keeper no chance. Aaron Brennan was in good form from play and frees and Davy Maher’s tireless work was rewarded with a nice point from play before half-time to leave just a goal in it, GBC 1-5, Clara 0-5. Read more
There was a frosty coating on the grass under the flood-lights in Piltown on Sunday evening last as GBC under 16’s took on Kilmacow in the semi-final of the under 16 league. Colum Prendiville’s hard work was rewarded with an early goal and Aaron Brennan put over seven excellent points from a combination of well-taken frees and play. Colum Prendiville and Geordan Davis also pointed, before Dylan Lanigan goaled late in the half, leaving the half time score GBC 2-9, Kilmacow 1-2. Read more
The Graigue Ballycallan under 16 squad went to Freshford on Saturday last with a dream of entering the history books; they returned to Tom Ryall Park that night with a memory that will last a lifetime.
Galmoy/Windgap started briskly and had three unanswered points on the board within four minutes. The GBC boys didn’t panic and when Ciarán Hogan got possession on the edge of the square, he gave the goalie no chance. Read more
