GBC U12’s were invited to the Young Ireland’s U12 Tournament on Saturday May 19th. Our boys were drawn in a group with Clara, Piltown and Graignamanagh. On what was a glorious morning, we took on Clara in the opening fixture. This match was very well-balanced throughout. In the final 5 minutes, Clara pulled away with some well-taken points to run out winners GBC 1-2 Clara 1-6.
Match two saw us pitted against a strong Piltown side who were in control throughout. Despite this our boys never dropped their heads and kept hurling until the final whistle. Full Time Score: GBC 1-2 Piltown 4-4.

Rangers went in at the break ahead by the narrowest of margins 1-6 to 1-5. The half back line of Patrick Foley, Billy Dowling and Elliot Teehan holding firm.

2017 was a very enjoyable year for all involved due to the continued success of the St. Aidan’s school team which was backboned by the majority of Under 12 panel. We had a fairly quite start to the year, added to that 10 of our panel were also part of the under 14 panel, taking part in the Football and Hurling League and Championship and also the Féile.

As individual players these lads gave so much to other teams in the club, colleges and county. Read more
