The U-9 Team recently took part in the Roanmore Tournament in Waterford. They played against teams from Lisgoold (Cork), Carrick Swans and Sacred Hearts (Waterford).

Graigue Ballycallan U-16s played out an extraordinary county quarter final against tough opposition in Dunnamaggin in Callan last Saturday. The sides had already met in a challenge match earlier this year with the GBC boys winning comfortably, but this would prove to be a much tighter affair. Read more

The eagerly awaited first round of the u-14 Roinn B Championship took place in Dunnamaggin on Tuesday last. GBC were pitted against southern side Mullinavat. When these two sides had met last in early May the local boys recorded an easy victory, but the team management had the boys well warned against being complacent. Read more
On Saturday our U-10 team did us proud in the annual Mullinahone Tournament. We paraded through the village with teams from Cork, Tipperary, Carlow, Derry, Antrim, Clare, Galway, Meath, Laois, Limerick, Tyrone, Waterford and Offaly. We were honoured to represent Kilkenny along with Windgap. Charles J. Kickham was born in Mullinahone in 1828 and is famous for his novel “Knocknagow” and the Tipperary Anthem “Slievenamon” which he wrote. Read more
Our U-8’s had a much improved outing in the Inistioge Tournament on Saturday the 30th August. All matches were 10-a-side with the first half ground hurling only. First up was St. Mullins. After a sluggish first half, we went in at HT 1-0 to no score behind. In the second half, despite great efforts and two disallowed goals, our lads couldn’t get a deserved equaliser. The FT score was GBC 0-0 St. Mullins 1-0. Read more
On Tuesday last in Tullaroan, GBC Under 16s played St. Lachtain’s in the first round of the championship. GBC were very impressive in the first half, first to the ball and moving it cleverly all over the pitch. Jamie Lawlor was on fire at full forward, scoring 2-3 in thirty minutes. Aaron Brennan bagged another two goals, while Killian Egan and Dylan Lanigan added a point each. Read more
U12 Go Games Team White played neighbours Tullaroan on Wednesday evening, in what proved to be a classic encounter. The game started well for our boys with a couple of early scores from Oisín Egan but the Tullaroan boys were soon in their stride and they found their range to level matters 15 mins in. Read more

The annual u-14 Declan Byrne Tournament took place in Tom Ryall Park, Kilmanagh on Saturday 16th August. This long running juvenile tournament attracts a lot of interest from u-14 teams throughout the county and beyond. This year was no different with seven teams from Kilkenny, Tipperary and Carlow taking part. St. Patrick’s of Ballyragget, John Lockes of Callan, Clara and Kilmacow made up the Kilkenny contingent. Ballingarry from Tipperary and Ballinkillen from Carlow completed the line up. Conditions on the day were good and as usual the pitches were in excellent order. A large crowd of locals and visitors were in attendance and their vocal support added to the occasion. Read more
Graigue Ballycallan U10 team travelled to Clonmel on Saturday morning 16th Aug to participate in the annual St. Mary’s tournament.

On a sunny Saturday morning Graigue-Ballycallan U-10 teams played four challenge matches against Dicksboro in Palmerstown. They were victorious in three out of the four games which is a great achievement against the city club. Each club divided their U-10 players into two teams. Read more
