After a great campaign in the Roinn A u-16 league, the GBC boys shared the top position on the table with their counterparts from the south, Ballyhale-Shamrocks. Consequently a play-off situation existed and it was all roads to Dunnamaggin on Friday last to determine who would take the honours of heading the group and earning a place in the Roinn A League final for 2015. Our U13’s took to Lisdowney on Saturday the 25th of July in perfect hurling conditions for the annual Lisdowney 7’s Tournament. Our first round game saw us meet a strong Dicksboro side. A keenly fought first half meant scores were at a premium, with the ‘Boro opening the scoring before Oisín Egan and Paddy Brennan put GBC one point up. Paddy was unlucky to have a goal disallowed before the half time whistle. Discksboro got the final score of the half to leave it 2 points a-piece at half time. Read more

First round of Go-Games started on Saturday morning 25 July 2015, GBC travelled to Young Ireland’s GAA grounds with weather conditions perfect for hurling. These two teams were well matched in the first half. Gowran opened the scoring early with a goal, Gowran dominated early exchanges and were two goals up after 7-8 mins. GBC got more into the game and were rewarded with a well taken goal by Tom Brennan. Gowran responded with a point (2-1) – (1-0). Playing on the half back line Billy Egan collected the ball went down the pitch and scored a excellent goal. On the half-time whistle GBC were down 2pts (3-3)-(3-1) GBC looked in a good position to take the win.

Graigue Ballycallan played Thomastown in the Minor Hurling League last Monday in Thomastown. Thomastown were fastest out of the blocks and had two goals on the board within the first fifteen minutes. Sean Ryan scored five points in the half while Ciaran Hogan, Dylan Lanigan and Colum Prendiville added a point each. Just before the break, Dylan Lanigan netted for GBC, following good work by Sean Ryan. It was all to play for at half time as the score read GBC 1-8, Thomastown 2-6.

A great day was had by all team and mentors on Sunday last when we travelled in force to the Leinster Final between Kilkenny and Galway.
An early start for everyone from our club grounds in Kilmanagh leaving on Ger Ronan’s bus at 7:45am with the first stop to play a challenge game against Liffey Gaels, Lucan U14 team. Read more
A great day in Dublin for our U14s and U10s who played challenge matches against Liffey Gaels and for the Graigue Ballycallan Ballad Group who got to sing in Croke Park at half time in the minor match.
Well done to the U16s on winning the Jim Buggy Memorial Tournament on Saturday 4th July in Castlecomer. A special well done to some of the U14s who stepped up to the mark when they were called upon and showed great bravery and determination! Match reports to follow.

Our U10s played out a three team blitz last Sunday 14th June in Kilmanagh. The boys were divided into Team Kilkenny, Team Ballycallan and Team Bibs!
Kilkenny and G/Ballycallan played the opening match. A flurry of late goals saw GBC win 6-4 to 3-3.
Next up GBC took on The Bibs, this was end to end entertainment with great skill shown by both sides. The Bibs won this game 4-4 to 3-4. Read more
