St. Mary’s, Clonmel – U10 Tournament – 5/9/2015

Graigue Ballycallan U10 team travelled to Clonmel on Saturday morning 5th of September to participate in the annual St. Mary’s tournament. Following last year’s victory in the Shield Final the lads were travelling with hopes of doing well.

U10 Tullaroan blitz – Sunday 30/8/2015

Well done to the under 10’s who travelled to Tullaroan last Sunday. They played two matches and were victorious in both. In the first game the boys played Galmoy. They opened up a commanding lead with Elliot Teehan(3-1) and Jeff Neary(2-2) to the fore with scores. GBC were solid in defence with Sean Roberts and Ryan Corcoran keeping the Galmoy attack’s at bay. The boys continued to dominate in the second half which saw Sean Roberts score 3 goals. The boys won well on a scoreline 11-10 to 2–4  and set up a second match against Tullaroan. Read more

U12 Go Games Round-up

GBC first U12 Go Games fixture started on an away trip to Young Ireland’s on Sat 25th July resulting in a loss after the lads started well. Young Ireland’s just had that bit extra in front of goal. 
For first time teams from Co Laois were entered into Kilkenny GO GAMES, next up for GBC was the visit of Abbeyleix to Tom Ryall Park. This was a very entertaining match, the two teams were well matched and it ended in a good win for GBC.

U16 Roinn A Hurling Championship – 1st Round – 3/8/2015

All roads led to Palmerstown on the 3rd August last, as the U-16s took on the city side O’Loughlin Gaels in the first round of the Roinn A Championship. When the draw took place in early Spring, it was acknowledged that this would be a tough test for the locals. However, with good form displayed in the league the GBC boys and their mentors embraced the challenge and put everything into training coming up to the fixture. Read more

U11 Trip to Cork – 1/8/2015

On Saturday 1st August the GBC U11’s travelled to Blackrock in Cork for the Ger Dineen Tournament, having being invited by Joe Young. This was a two team tournament with the winners decided on combination of all results.
First up for the boys were the hosts Blackrock. Team Blue started brightly with Jeff Neary opening the scoring with a point, Eoin Egan followed this up with two goals. The boys lead at half time 2-2 to 0-1. Team Blue continued to dominate the second half and gave a great team performance scoring freely and ran out easy winners. Read more
