Friday evening, 16-9-2016, saw the conclusion of St Brigid‘s U12 season where they lined up against a very talented and determined James Stephens side in the Roinn A U12 County Final. A large Ballycallan crowd came to support the girls, this made the final feel like a home fixture and there is no doubt they acted as the 16th man that is often heard in post match interviews with elite athletes at top level sport, but this was something more than that, this was about parish pride and supporting your own, a concept that makes GAA and Camogie unique. It was the U10’s final training session for 2016 last Monday 19th September. There was a fantastic turnout by all the girls, all 22 turned up and put in a mighty effort to finish out the season. Nothing new with this group of girls, all year even when things didn’t go their way they dug deep and gave it everything they had, and finished each match with great strength and massive heart. Each and every one of them are a credit to themselves, their families and their club and are a pleasure to train. Their futures are very bright. Read more
