J.J. Ryan’s trip to Croke Park for 1916 Commemoration – 24/04/2016
All participant’s in Scór were invited to audition for the reading of the Proclamation at the Laochra 1916 Commemoration on League Final Sunday in Croke Park on 24/4/2016. This involved sending a video of J.J. reading excerpts from the Proclamation in both Irish and English to Tyrone Productions. One child from each county was chosen to represent their county on the day and J.J. was delighted to be selected from Kilkenny.
All representatives spent the full weekend preparing for this momentous occasion in Croke Park, arriving for rehearsals on both Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th at 9am. They practised their individual lines, voice projection, positioning on the pitch and adjusting their microphones. Read more
Leinster Juvenile Colleges Final – Friday 6/5/2016
Congratulations to Manager Tom Hogan, players Oisín Egan, Stephen Keoghan and Eoin Delahunty on winning the Leinster Juvenile hurling Final last Friday. They beat Good Counsel 4-13 to 3-6 in a cracking game, with St. Kierans displaying their best performance of the year & only pulled away in the final few minutes. Well done all involved.

Congratulations to JJ Ryan, Desart, who will be the Kilkenny representative at Croke Park on Sunday April 24th for the 1916 GAA Commemoration celebrations after the Allianz Football League finals. JJ will be reading a few lines from the proclamation.

More All Ireland Senior Colleges Medals for the parish!
Massive congrats and well done to Colum Prendiville and Tommy Ronan who brought another 2 All-Ireland Senior Colleges medals back to the parish today. Colum was playing at centre forward and Tommy was a panelist when St. Kieran’s College overcame Ardscoil Rís, Limerick in Semple Stadium today on a scoreline of 1-15 to 1-13. Both players can be very proud of their achievements and we hope they enjoy all the celebrations.
Presentation of Set of Jerseys to U12s
Presentation by Colum Dillon of a set of U12 Jerseys to Ger Neary, U12 Selector. Graigue Ballycallan GAA Club was one of the 25 winners of Carroll’s Ham Set of Jerseys and the only winning Kilkenny club. Thanks to club member Colum Dillon who entered the competition on behalf of the club. Also in the picture is Club Chairman Dave O’Neills and some of our U12 players!
