Fantastic turn out at the Annual Drive for Liam Table Quiz held in the Pound, Ballycallan last Thursday night 25th August. 12 tables participated on the night, so great credit to those who got involved. A massive thanks to Martin and Mary McGrath who looked after the teams with food and refreshments, to Eileen, Philomena and Ben for all their help on the night…thanks Martin Delahunty and Tracy Millea for spot prizes on the night also. U10 Mini Blitz Tullaroan Field Day – Sunday 29th August 2016

Graigue Ballycallan, Galmoy, Freshford and Tullaroan

Graigue Ballycallan U10’s were invited to Tullaroan’s Field Day to play in a mini blitz on Sunday 29^th August. With a full squad available, we were confident of a good performance and it didn’t disappoint with the team making it to the final.

The first game was against Freshford and Graigue made great use of the wind in the first half, enjoying a comfortable lead to the break. The wind assisted Freshford in the second half as they gradually clawed back their deficit. However, a few well-crafted points from Ben Young and relentless defending from Paidí, Sean and Robbie kept the home team ahead to the final whistle. Score ended Graigue Ballycallan 0–7 to Freshford 1–2 and this win was made all the more enjoyable as the team had to dig deep to hold their lead. Read more

Billy Ronan Memorial Tournament 2016 – 28/8/2016

The final of the Billy Ronan Memorial Tournament took place in Tom Ryall Park Kilmanagh on Sunday 28th August 2016. Mullinavat came out on top against the locals on a scoreline of 5-20 to 1-20. The cup was presented to the Mullinavat captain by Johnny Ronan.

Huge thanks to all volunteers from the club who helped out on the night – car park attendants, umpires & linesmen. Also, thanks to all supporters who turned up on the night.

Kilkenny Development Squads – Saturday 27th August 2016

Well done to Conor Flynn, Jesse Roberts, Sean Ryan and Tommy Ronan who helped Kilkenny win the All-Ireland U17 Hurling Tournament for the first time yesterday. They beat Wexford, Limerick, Dublin and overcame Cork in the final!

Also well done to Stephen Keoghan who was part of the Kilkenny U15 team that won Leinster yesterday

And to Oisin Egan & Eoin Delahunty (U14) and Killian Egan & Aaron Brennan (U16) who also played with Kilkenny teams in the U14 & U16 grades. It’s wonderful to see so many players from our club representing Kilkenny at these grades. Well done lads!

U12 Go Games – Team Blue

Team Blue enjoyed a unbeaten run in this years Go Games with wins over Clara, Mooncoin, Slieverue, and drew with Borris/Kilcotton. Lads will play in Go Games Regional Finals along with team White in Kilmanagh on Saturday.

Draw for All-Ireland Tickets for members will take place on Saturday 27th August at 8.30pm in the Clubrooms

Well done to our clubman Billy Ryan on a great performance in the recent All Ireland Intermediate Hurling Final scoring 1-4 on the day. Also, congrats to Graigue Ballycallan GAA Club Chairman, Dave O’Neill who was a selector with the Kilkenny Intermediates this year. Graigue Ballycallan, O’Loughlin Gaels and Castlecomer

Our U10 boys travelled again this year to O’Loughlin Park to play in a mini blitz on Thursday 19^th August and a good performance was crucial after the comprehensive defeat at the hands of Paulstown the week before in Kilmanagh. Although it must be noted that on that same evening well over half the team were unavailable because of holidays and hence with a relative small group every chap’s absence had an impact. Read more
