All-Ireland Medals for the parish – 23/07/2017

Another proud day for our club when the Kilkenny Intermediate team won the All Ireland Final in the newly re-opened Pairc Uí Chaoimh. Massive congratulations to Ger Teehan, Colum Prendiville, Eamonn Egan and Sean O’Dwyer who come back to their club with All Ireland medals, a fantastic achievement. Also, congrats to our Club Chairman, Dave O’Neill who was a selector with the team. Full Time Score: Kilkenny 2-23 Cork 2-18. Well done all!

MINOR NEWS

The long awaited minor season kicked off on the 6th July last.  A myriad of circumstances beyond the management’s control this year had seen serious disruption to their training plans for this group of players. However, they put this behind them as their match against town side Dicksboro opened. A very strong first half display saw them take a six point lead into the break. However this lead was to prove short-lived and an improved Dicksboro ran out worthy winners at the end.

Kilkenny v Dublin Minor Leinster Final – Sunday 02/07/2017

It was a very proud day on Sunday 2nd July 2017 when our club was represented with 5 players on the Kilkenny minor panel against Dublin in the Leinster Final at Croke Park. Tommy Ronan, Conor Flynn, Sean Ryan, Jesse Roberts & Killian Egan proudly represented the club and brought 5 Leinster medals back to the parish. Full Time score was Kilkenny 3-15 Dublin 1-17, Sean Ryan contributing 2-2 on the day. Well done boys, a fantastic achievement. Kilkenny will now play in the Semi-Final on August 6th. Read more

Féile na Gael 2017

Graigue Ballycallan GAA Club & St. Brigid’s Camogie Club are hosting 2 teams for Féile na Gael on the weekend of 16-18 June 2017.  GBC are hosting Rathmoylan from Co. Meath and St. Brigid’s are hosting Gailtir from Co. Waterford. 

Our local families are welcoming the players into their homes for the weekend; to raise funds we’re holding a number of events, the first being a gate collection after the Cemetery Mass this coming weekend 28th May, followed by a Cabaret in Brennan’s, Kilmanagh on 3rd June and a breakfast morning in St. Aidan’s on 12th June.  Your support for these events is greatly appreciated.

We are planning a get together on the evening of Saturday 17th June at the clubhouse with our teams and their families, everyone is welcome to join in the fun and celebrations.

U16 Roinn B HL – Shield Final GBC v Rower Inistioge – 12/05/2017

Graigue Ballycallan 4-6   Rower-Inistioge 0-11 

Graigue Ballycallan finished out their busy League schedule with a little silverware after getting the better of southern stronghold Rower-Inistioge in the Shield Final. The game was played in very difficult conditions with persistent rain falling all through, but this was certainly not to dampen the enthusiasm from both sets of players.
