Lip Sync Battle Fundraiser – Friday 9th November 2018
As the dust settles on what has been our biggest fundraiser to date we reflect on what an amazing community we live in. The whole parish bought into this event which was to raise funds for the development of the facilities in Tom Ryall Park, Kilmanagh for Graigue Ballycallan GAA Club and St. Brigid’s Camogie Club. Massive effort was put in by the 10 acts who entertained us on the night and massive effort was put in by the Organising Committee who ensured everything ran so smoothly on the night. A special thanks to Tracy Millea who pushed this idea from the very start and could foresee that it would be a winner. We will have a more detailed report and some more photos in the coming days but for now a massive well done and thanks to anyone who helped with or supported this event in any way!
Michael Lyng Motors Intermediate Hurling CHAMPIONS 2018!!!
As there has been reams written about our final in the local newspapers and spoken about on local radio, it is perhaps best to leave it to pictures to see what this famous victory has meant to both club and parish. To each and every one of the players and management team we salute you as worthy champions!! Last year’s defeat in the final only served to strengthen your resolve and promises made by you at the 2017 home-coming have undeniably been fulfilled! What happened on Sunday 28th October 2018 had to be seen to be believed! The journey has only begun for this group of young and (young at heart) players!!! The Leinster Campaign beckons and the journey continues for Kilkenny’s newest recruits to the Senior ranks.!!
Intermediate County Champions 2018
What a day Sunday 28th October 2018 was, the Michael Lyng Motors Intermediate Hurling Championship Final will be remembered for many years to come. The day our wonderful Intermediate hurlers stepped up to the mark and won against our neighbours Tullaroan on a scoreline of 2-16 to 2-13. We looked like we were dead and buried in the 28th minute when we were 9 points down but the lads put in a fantastic 2nd half performance to win by 3 points. Well done to the players and management team for giving us a year to remember!

M Lyng Motors IHC Semi Final – 13/10/2018 GBC v Tullogher Rosbercon
Report by Philomena Brennan
In a rain soaked Nowlan Park on Sunday last 13th October, GBC were attempting to secure a second successive County Final appearance. Conditions were miserable as the rain poured down from early Saturday as forecasted. A slight respite occurred just before the start of the game but it was to prove short-lived as conditions made open fast hurling next to impossible for both teams.

M Lyng Motors IHC Quarter Final – GBC v Glenmore 6/10/2018
Report by Philomena Brennan
In a windy Ballyhale last Saturday, GBC faced south counterparts Glenmore in the Intermediate HC Quarter Final. Both sides had met in last year’s HC Semi-Final and were no strangers to each other. With a strong prevailing wind a feature of the day, Glenmore won the toss and opted to play with it. Exchanges were physical in the opening fifteen minutes and as a result scores were hard won by each side. GBC were guilty of squandering scoring chances but eventually settled down and after scoring the only goal of the half went into the break one point up.
