On Monday 5th May 2014 Graigue-Ballycallan u-14s contested the Feile semi-final in Palmerstown. Their opponents were Emeralds of Urlingford whom they had battled with the previous week-end in the qualifying rounds, grinding out a well earned draw on that particular occasion. Read more
Graigue-Ballycallan played St. Lachtain’s of Freshford in the second round of the Intermediate hurling league last Saturday night in Palmerstown. In monsoon-like conditions, GBC played with a gale at their backs in the first half. Seven minutes in, St. Lachtain’s broke through the GBC defence for a goal. Read more

The Graigue – Ballycallan U-10 blue team played their first Go-Game of the year in Slieverue on a cold, windy Saturday morning. Playing ground hurling for the first ten minutes of the game, Charlie Cleere, with a skillful ground stroke passed the sliotar to the ever alert Jeff Neary, who scored a fine opening goal which settled the Graigue – Ballycallan boys. Graigue Ballycallan and Gowran played an exciting, skillful brand of hurling in the Junior A North semi-final, on Saturday evening last in St. John’s Park. GBC were flying from the throw in and led by nine points to two midway through the first half, a long-range effort from Shane Butler being the pick of the scores. Read more
Last Thursday saw the meeting of GBC and Lisdowney in the under 16 hurling league. Both teams had two wins out of two, so it was all to play for.
Lisdowney were fastest out of the blocks and GBC couldn’t match their pace and intensity in the first half. Read more
On Sunday afternoon last in Tom Ryall Park, GBC played St. Martin’s in the Junior B hurling league. Playing with a strong breeze in the first half GBC held the upper hand around the middle, with Eoin Corcoran, Conor Hogan and Eamonn Egan dominating. Read more
GBC minors played Slieverue in a balmy Tom Ryall Park on Monday evening. Eamonn Egan scored Graigue’s first point from play in the opening minutes, but unfortunately their next score from play didn’t come until the fortieth minute, when Billy Ryan pointed. Read more

The U8s had their first game of the year v St. Lachtain’s in Freshford on Saturday morning. We played two 7 a-side games, side by side, 15 mins a half. Team 1 were down by a 1-0 to 0-0 at half-time but rallied strongly in the 2nd half to lose out by a late Freshford goal, FT 5-0 to 4-1. Team 2 were out-muscled in the first half down 3-0 to 0-0 but like Team 1 put in a superb effort in the 2nd half and lost on a scoreline of 4-0 to 2-0. The boys have plenty to work on but showed lots of potential when they put their minds to it. We would like to encourage parents to help practice with their lads at home, 20 mins a day ground hurling, blocking, rising etc you would be amazed the difference it would make and of course make it fun.

The Graigue Ballycallan U-14s recorded their first win of the league on their second outing in Jenkinstown on Monday last. Their opponents were Conahy Shamrocks. GBC played with a stiff breeze in the first half and quickly built up a lead, which they would not relinquish for the entire game. Read more

On Easter Monday, April 20th the Graigue Ballycallan Junior B team came up against Barrow Rangers on a windswept day in Tom Ryall Park.
With a significant breeze behind them in the first half, Barrow Rangers dominated the scoreline, putting over 6 points from play and could have had a goal or 2 from play had it not been for some fine goalkeeping from Padraig Dunphy. Read more
