On Tuesday last in Tullaroan, GBC Under 16s played St. Lachtain’s in the first round of the championship. GBC were very impressive in the first half, first to the ball and moving it cleverly all over the pitch. Jamie Lawlor was on fire at full forward, scoring 2-3 in thirty minutes. Under 16 Hurling Tier Match v Lisdowney, 24/07/14
Graigue Ballycallan under 16s played Lisdowney in a tier knockout match in Kilmanagh last Thursday. Despite missing a few players, those who took to the field showed huge character and determination. Read more

Minor Hurling League Round 3 8th July 2014

Under 16 Hurling League Round 4

Graigue Ballycallan’s U-16 team recently returned to winning ways over a stern Slieverue side in Tom Ryall Park, Kilmanagh. A determined G.B.C began in good form following a number of tough training sessions and challenge matches. The teams started trading scores from the throw-in before G.B.C began to take control scoring 1-3 without reply with Geordan Davis scoring a fine goal and a point to leave the scoreline standing at 1-6 to 0-3 in favour of the Kilmanagh side. The GBC u-14 hurling league continued into Round 6 when the locals travelled to Gowran to play a very strong Young Ireland’s team who, to date, had been performing very well. Conditions were very poor with wind and rain making it difficult for all. Read more
Under 8 Hurling

Our U8s had matches against Danesfort and O’Loughlins’ Gaels in recent weeks. Playing two 8-aside matches, then swapping over our boys gave a good account of themselves winning 7 out of 8 matches altogether. We take part in the Dicksboro U8 tournament on Saturday, so best of luck to all involved.

The third installment in the u-14 GBC v Emeralds saga took place on Monday last when the sides met in Tom Ryall Park for round 5 of the Roinn B Hurling League. Little divided these two very competitive sides when they met in the Féile series of games and a large attendance on a miserable evening looked forward to another tough encounter. Read more

Intermediate Hurling League – Round 3 – 16th May 2014
On Friday night last, Graigue Ballycallan intermediate team travelled to Tullaroan hoping to improve on their draw against St. Lachtain’s in the previous match. This time Emeralds provided the opposition.
