The AGM of St. Brigid’s Camogie Club was held on Friday the 24th November in the clubrooms in Kilmanagh. It was attended by players, members and parents. Thank you to everyone who attended.
It began with a welcome from Chairperson Anne Ging followed by Secretary Carmel Brennan reading the minutes from last year’s AGM which were proposed and seconded. Anne then gave the Chairperson’s address which recognised all of the achievements of the club’s teams this year and the hard work by members in fundraising throughout the year, at the 80’s night in Langtons, the Annual Camogie Tablequiz, bag-packing and Whist Drives. The successes of the Feile na nGael weekend in which we hosted Gailltir from Waterford and the Billy Malone Memorial tournament were mentioned along with the 40th anniversary celebration night. She also thanked all trainers and parents for their commitment. The secretary’s report listed the achievements of each of the club’s teams over the year and also those of members on teams from schools, colleges and at county level. The treasurer’s report was then handed out and examined by each member. Ideas for the following year in regards to training and fundraising were also discussed. The committee for the upcoming year was then elected as follows:
Patrons: Fr Taylor and Fr. Buckley
Presidents: Billy Neary, Tom Walton, Maura Comerford, Breda Ryall, Nora Murphy, Mai Murphy, Galacia Ryall, Jackie Hanley and Nellie Ryall
Chairperson: John Cahill
Vice Chairperson: Anne Ging
Secretary: Carmel Brennan
Assistant Secretary: Mary Dalton
Treasurer: Mark O’Brien
P.R.O: Sinead Melaniff
Club Registrar: Joan Purcell
It is always great to see new fresh faces getting involved in the club and we thank those who volunteered to help for the year. We aim to continue the great work of last year’s committee and that it will be an even better year than last. Thank you very much to our outgoing officers James Cahill and Emma Boland for all of their work with the committee and also to Anne Ging who stands down as chairperson but will stay on as vice chair.
We hope that 2018 will be even more successful than the year gone as we enjoy being a senior club once again! Best of luck to all teams for the following year.
