Match report by Carmel Brennan
Huge congratulations to our U14 camogie team who recently won the Roinn B Shield final.
The match was against Mooncoin and took place in Windgap on Wednesday 9th September.
Both teams worked hard from the throw-in with Mooncoin getting the first score. A few missed scores in the first half meant the scoreboard did not reflect the hard work the girls had put in all over the field. At half time the girls had a two point lead with of score 2-1 to 1-2.
In the second half the girls set their focus on bringing home the Shield and raised their game. They had to fight harder for the ball and it was sheer determination and heart that drove the girls on to win the final.
Full time score 3-7 to 2-4.
Joan Gaule, fixtures Chairperson on the Kilkenny County Board complimented both teams on the great display of camogie and presented team captain Maebh Ging with the shield.
