Our U10s played out a three team blitz last Sunday 14th June in Kilmanagh. The boys were divided into Team Kilkenny, Team Ballycallan and Team Bibs!
Kilkenny and G/Ballycallan played the opening match. A flurry of late goals saw GBC win 6-4 to 3-3.
Next up GBC took on The Bibs, this was end to end entertainment with great skill shown by both sides. The Bibs won this game 4-4 to 3-4.
The last group match saw Kilkenny play The Bibs. A close encounter all through was finally decided by a long range point with the last puck of the ball. This was not however before a point blank save from Kilkenny goalie Donnacha Cleere! Kilkenny won 3-4 to 3-3.
With the teams locked on the same points, the contenders for the final came down to scoring difference! G/Ballycallan and The Bibs would play in the final. The final proved to be a cracking game which reflected the high standard of hurling played throughout by all on the day. Club Chairman Ben and Juvenile Chairman Dave presented the boys with medals and some well-earned treats. The boys also got the chance to lift ‘The Cup’. Thanks to all the mentors for organising an entertaining morning.
