Round 4 of the Roinn B League saw Ggraigue Ballycallan take on Glenmore on Friday 12th in a sunny Tom Ryall Park. A minutes silence was impeccably observed prior to throw-in for the late Tom Brennan who’s nephew Martin plays with this team.
GBC started very well scoring 1-1 in the opening 5 minutes, a goal coming from Ben Young after a lovely handpass from Keelan Lynch. Glenmore responded with the next 3 points before Ben McEvoy won possession and crossed for midfielder Paidí Egan who raised the green flag to leave it GBC 2-1, Glenmore 0-3 after 15 minutes. Glenmore scored 2 points, before Ben Young buried a goal from 20 yards. Half Time GBC 3-2, Glenmore 0-6. Glenmore were fired up for the 2nd half and dominated the opening 20 minutes scoring 1-4 to lead by 1 point with 10 minutes left. GBC dug deep to score the next 2 points to lead by 1 point with time almost up. Glenmore got a deserved equalizer late on to leave the score GBC 3-5, Glenmore 1-11. A cracking match was served up by these two fine sides.
