The GBC Juniors had their first League match last Saturday evening 13th April, in a cold and blustery Larchfield. There are eleven teams in the group which will mean this group of players will have ten matches over the coming months.
Despite playing against a very strong breeze in the first half GBC had the better of the exchanges and deserved their half time lead of 1-3 to 0-2, a goal by Philly Heafey being the difference.
In the second half this goal would prove decisive as James Stephens always struggled to find the posts. GBC squandered a number of scoring chances but steadied themselves in the final quarter and went on to a deserved victory.
FT: GBC 1-8 James Stephens 0-8.
Scores: Philly Heafey (1-0) Vinnie Teehan (0-2) Shane Hennessy (0-2) Stephen Keoghan (0-2 f) Richard Keoghan (0-1) Adam O’Brien (0-1)
