Match Report by Philomena Brennan
GBC qualified for the Shield Final where their opponents were Lisdowney. The locals were faster off the mark and with the forwards in form, GBC quickly built up the lead. Lisdowney should have been closer but for some wayward shooting on their part. GBC were well in control for the most of the first half, as witnessed by the fact that all six forwards had scored from play. Lisdowney were limited to only four points from the half due in no small part to the solid GBC defensive work.
Half-time: GBC 1-10 Lisdowney 0-4.
The second half saw Lisdowney mount a spirited comeback but in truth GBC were well on their way to gaining the title.
