Report By Martin Delahunty
Graigue Ballycallan played Freshford in Tullaroan on Saturday morning last 9th September in the U16 Hurling County Final, against a hugely talented opposition, the lads gave their all but it wasn’t to be and they lost out on a scoreline of St. Lachtain’s 6-15 GBC 2-12.
Against Roinn B opponents throughout the year the lads had proved well up to the task and qualified for the final on the back of terrific matches against Tullaroan and The Rower.
So after a year in which they played 10 competitive matches, winning 8 and trawling around the county with 9 challenge matches played and over 30 training sessions, these lads didn’t hang around and done everything asked by their mentors.
So a special thanks goes to mentors, Phil, Tommy, Niall & Eamon also to medics Mary Keoghan and Collette Walton.
Best of Luck to the players involved with U14 and Minor panels in upcoming championship.!
