Graigue Ballycallan opened the scoring with a well taken point from Philip Heafey. After a couple of good saves from Padraig Dunphy, sustained pressure from Conahy led to an early goal. Graigue responded well and top class goals from Brendan Hayes and James Smith, as well as points from Philip Heafey (2), Paddy Kennedy (2) and Shane Murphy, left the score at half time 2-6 to 1-6 in favour of the home side.
The second half started brightly, with Graigue gaining the upper hand at midfield and a brilliant goal from James Smith inspired them on to the narrowest of victories, 3-15 to 3-14.
